2021 Student Board

Student Board terms start in January of each year.

Student Board Chair: Samantha Schneider

Sam is a third year Doctor of Audiology student at Rush University. She served as the Rush University Representative last year and is excited to be leading the Student Board this year. She will be starting her externship at Weill Cornell Medicine this May! 


Rush University Representative: Stephanie Feller

Stephanie is a current 2nd year student at Rush University from the New York City suburbs. She graduated from the University of Connecticut and now lives in the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago. Her current interests include hearing conversation as well as cochlear implants.


Illinois State University Representative: Emily Ferguson

Emily is a second year Doctor of Audiology student at Illinois State University, and she is extremely excited to be a part of the ILAA Student Board this year! Emily's audiology interests include electrophysiology and adult diagnostics.



Northern Illinois University Representative: Emelina Johnson

Emelina is currently a second year Audiology student at Northern Illinois University and is excited to be a part of the ILAA student board! She received her Bachelor of Science in Communicative Disorders with a minor in Deafness from NIU. She is fluent in American Sign Language and her dream is to become an Educational Audiologist at a school for the Deaf. 


University of Illinois Representative: Briana Arzuaga

Briana is a second-year Doctor of Audiology student from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She received her Bachelor of Science in Speech and Hearing Science with a minor in Spanish at University of Illinois. Her clinical interests include cochlear implantation and vestibular assessment in children and adults. She is excited to be involved in ILAA as a student board representative this year!


Northwestern University Representative: Kaitlin Engelke

Kaitlin is currently a first year audiology student at Northwestern University and she is interested in specialties of pediatrics and balance disorders. When she is not thinking about audiology, she enjoys exploring outdoors, going for long runs, and spending time with her family and her puppy. She is excited to be a part of ILAA and she is looking forward to encouraging other students to join our advocacy efforts.
